What this page is

This page is a short and honest warning about what SpeakMove does not do. If you plan to use the service for critical things (medical, legal, immigration paperwork) — read this before subscribing.

AI can be wrong

The SpeakMove bot runs on AI (large language model + speech recognition + speech synthesis). AI is not perfect:

• The bot may give an incorrect grammar correction — especially in rare or complex constructions
• The bot may mis-recognise your accent — especially with background noise or a weak microphone signal
• The bot may give inaccurate advice about UK realities (council tax, immigration rules, employment law)
• The AI voice is not identical to a real British speaker — it's a close but synthetic approximation

Verify critical information against primary sources — UK Government (gov.uk), Citizens Advice, NHS, your actual landlord/employer.

SpeakMove **does not replace**

SpeakMove is a conversation practice tool. It does not replace:

• A tutor giving real feedback on your speech, mistakes and progress
• A GP in medical situations — if you have serious symptoms, call NHS 111 or see a GP
• A lawyer for legal matters — immigration, contracts, disputes
• An immigration adviser (UK OISC-registered) — for visa, ILR, citizenship
• A certification (IELTS, Cambridge ESOL, Trinity GESE) — SpeakMove does not issue certificates and is not CEFR-aligned

Voice data

Your voice is technically biometric data under GDPR Art. 4(14). SpeakMove:

• Uses voice only for speech recognition (speech-to-text)
• Deletes voice within 24 hours after transcription
• Does not use voice to train AI models
• Does not identify you by your voice

SpeakMove is not intended for minors. Scenarios (landlord call, GP, work coach, bank, job interview) are adult life situations.

If you are a parent and discovered a minor using the service — email hi@speakmove.app and we'll delete the data.

We do not guarantee results

We do not guarantee that after using SpeakMove you will:

• Speak fluently
• Pass IELTS / a job interview
• Get a visa / ILR / citizenship
• Resolve your problem with a landlord / GP / DWP

The result depends on your practice, motivation and dozens of other factors. The service is just a tool.

Liability limit

SpeakMove's maximum liability is the subscription amount you paid in the last 12 months. We are not liable for:

• Decisions you made based on AI advice
• Mistakes in your real conversations with landlord/GP/employer
• Stress, anxiety or other emotional impact from using the service
• Downtime, bugs, V0-instabilities
